Spring Event Austin

Dale is going to be facilitating a 3-day "I and Thou" Relationship Retreat, followed immediately by a 2-day "Soul Mate" Retreat in Austin in April or May.  The "I and Thou" Retreat will have a similar format to previous "I and Thou" Retreats, but will have evolved as Heartwork has evolved since the last retreat in 2010.  It will utilize the primary Heartwork Relationship Transformer tools in dyads, small groups, and large groups to inquire into the nature of relationship as deeply as possible. We will work together towards realizing Who we really are, in and through our relationship with another.

My preliminary thoughts on the nature of the "Soul Mate" Retreat are below:

For the purposes of this retreat, we are defining a soul mate as a being through whom God’s light is revealed to us.  Ultimately, every being on the planet is a potential soul mate – meaning they have the potential to serve one in revealing aspects of God “within” and “without.” For reasons, which we shall here refer to as “karma,” some beings play a more significant role in this re-membering Who we really are than others.  There is usually a sense of recognition with these beings, an awareness that we have known them before.

Oftentimes (perhaps more often than not), our soul mates are not necessarily those whom we perceive as unconditionally loving, but are those who, each in their own way, give us the opportunity to see those parts of ourselves – the “negative” aspects of our being, as well as the “positive” aspects – that we have split off from, thereby affording us the opportunity (if we’re open and willing to accept it) to embrace and become whole again in those places where we’ve abandoned ourselves.  This wholing/healing process requires a total commitment/surrender to the “lesson” received (not leaving oneself/merging with the “other,” but a true I/Thou relationship, where the other is not seen as separate from oneself in any way, and the commitment referred to here is simultaneously to both “self” and “other”) in order for the self-remembering to be possible.

This retreat will incorporate the tools of meditation and inquiry to create the space where souls can connect.  Those who attended the recent "What Is This?" Retreat got a good taste of this….

Both retreats are open both to people in ongoing committed relationships and people coming alone who are looking to gain deeper insight into the nature of relationship.  The 3-day "I and Thou" Relationship Retreat must be attended in order to participate in the 2-day "Soul Mate" Retreat.
